16A - Secret Sauce

My own view:

I would say that I am:

Intellectually curious: I am interested in philosophy, psychology, physics, and roller coasters

Passionate: I am very vocal and dedicated to my hobbies and everything that I enjoy.

Family/relationship oriented: I think the most important part of life is to develop meaningful relationships with a select group of people. I feel I have done that with my family and circle of best friends.

My apologies if some of these videos sound choppy.... all but #5 were done over Facetime.... but, regardless, enjoy!

1. https://youtu.be/yrUtI9-e11w

This first video is my mom speaking. She speaks the longest out of any of my interviewees and notes the most unique qualities. She highlights that I am empathetic, family-oriented, trustworthy, and intellectually curious.

2. https://youtu.be/wlZh7mMR450

This is my younger brother speaking and it cuts out at some points. In addition to gleefully mentioning our mutual passion for roller coasters, he (being an 8-year old) notes that I have "cool hair" and I am "smart." Although, he did also explain that I am relatively extroverted (stated as "not shy") which can be an important characteristic for an entrepreneur.

3. https://youtu.be/lfEJ3fBfQKE

Speaking here is my girlfriend. She also notes my passion for roller coasters in addition to my interest in philosophy. She believes I have an ability to grasp abstract concepts that many individuals can not grapple with.

4. https://youtu.be/CSlo7h9eefU

In this recording, my father is speaking about what makes me different. He notes that I have an ability to connect with a wide array of people. He does not note that my connections make me unique, but rather that my ability to connect with so many diverse individuals makes me unique. He, like my mother, notes my empathy and kindness towards others.

5. https://youtu.be/T9dWhX8aYqM

Speaking here is one of my best friends and roommate here at UF. He notes that I have a keen ability to time-manage and coordinate others. In addition, he explains that my ability to discuss complex topics while considering opposing views makes me unique.

  1. Johnathan,
Like I said to Brooke, I think that is amazing how other people see us and how it compares to our own reflection. Especially, from your younger brother who seems so pure and innocent in his recording. You sound like an amazing older brother to me. I can see that family is very important to you and that makes all of the difference in the success of someone's life. I think what they had to say about you was great and seems to be a real motivator to keep grinding and moving. Excellent job!

  2. Hi there Johnathan! This was a very nice post. I would agree in saying that I am intellectually curious as well as passionate and family-oriented. Very smart using facetime! You seem like a very great sibling. My sibling and I are not as close, but sometimes I really wish we were! Overall very great job!
