10A - Elevator Pitch No. 1
Check out my first elevator pitch for my new entrepreneurship idea: crafting user friendly allergy menus for small restaurant businesses.
This would serve to expand those business' costumer base, improve the average customer experience and increase restaurant options for individuals with food allergies.
Don't forget to like and comment!
Enjoy!
Johnathan,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching your pitch. You did a great job of conveying your professionalism, and it seemed like the product you are marketing was well thought out. One suggestion I have for improving your pitch is to get to the solution sooner. You covered the problem with great detail, but at a certain point, I began to wonder what your product was. I think it could be valuable for you to further detail the product. Overall, really great pitch.
Johnathan,
ReplyDeleteOne of the biggest aspects that I did not even consider before your elevator pitch was the fact that one individual in the family can easily dictate where the rest of them eat, based on the allergy. The issue becomes much more impactful when you consider its not just the 10% with the allergy being affected, its everyone that would want to go out with them. If you drive that home, I think people could definitely understand doing something that affects may 20-30% of their customers. I also really like that you are selling a service to businesses because the standard brick and mortar is really dying off. This can very effectively prevent that. Reading your other posts, I am concerned about whether or not businesses feel they need your service, and the education campaign that would need to go into actually selling it. About your video, I could be wrong, but it looked like you were reading from a script. If not, don't worry about it, if you were that is the only thing I think can be improved upon. You come across as much more genuine if you are pushing verbiage out as it comes naturally rather than worrying about reading. Fantastic job overall!
Johnathan,
ReplyDeleteYour pitch was very informative, good job of including statistics in your pitch. It was very straightforward, you left the viewer with the idea that you are a credible source. Normally its not ideal to talk about yourself too much in a pitch, but in your case it's beneficial as it really helps to promote the idea that you are knowledgable with your solution. It would be better if more time was spent discussing the solution; interested parties would like to know the price or at least how it'll be priced in the future. Despite this, you did a good job and it seems that you are passionate about the topic.
Johnathan,
ReplyDeleteI think your idea of an allergy menu is great. I personally only have one food allergy which isn’t usually problematic for me, but I have a friend who is allergic to several things. With this being said, We have been out together when she’s has to ask about the ingredients of certain dishes which I personally feel like would be easier for everyone involved if there were allergy menus available. With that being said, great job on being sure to include the stats to emphasize how common food allergies are, I think that if you personally don’t have a food allergy it can be easy to forget that some people still do. Great job overall!
I think you had a great elevator pitch both being informative and dressing the part. You relayed a great amount of knowledge on the industry you're trying to pursue with a great explanation of the problem and supplementing it with facts. The only thing that I saw a problem with was the amount of time you spent on explaining the problem. Try picking out small details that may not be needed for explaining the problem and dedicate a little more time to explaining the solution you have. I know the solution doesn't take too long in your case, but you could probably talk just a little bit slower and you'll probably stretch it out a good 3-5 seconds.
ReplyDeleteHi Johnathan! This was a really great video and elevator pitch. You were very informative and you also dressed the part! Your idea of adding allergy menu's to restaurants is something that has long been needed. You might've spent a little too much time on the problem and not enough on the solution, but thank you for addressing this!!! Great job overall.
